Advice on editing techniques
Hi there..
I am working on a short film shot in High Definition as part of a student project. I would really appreciate feedback on the edit procress I have undertaken/the colour correction filters used. Its still definately a work in progress at the moment but I have posted it to you tube.
The narative is not really important but does it make sense what is happening?
Does it flow ok?
Any tips on improving the edit?
Any general (hopefully constructive :)) comments?
I will be incorporating some SFX made in 3ds Max including an animated character and particle flows. I am thinking about doing this by exporting from FCP as a TIFF image sequence into combustion for compositing and perhaps using after effects for some 2d effects not available in FCP.
This is my first ever filming project and any tips on these procresses would also be really appreciated.
Many, many thanks……

Overall quality is very good, but I think you have the cut points just a bit off. I can see the flow you’re looking for and the best observation I can give is this. When cutting is used to progress the chronological events in a video there needs to be that visual continuity of motion. Some of your cuts seemed too late (early) in the motion and that, to me, seems to stutter the flow of movement from scene to scene. Just my first impression but I think your doing a great job and I hope we get to see the finish piece.
