Advice on editing techniques

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Hi there..

I am working on a short film shot in High Definition as part of a student project. I would really appreciate feedback on the edit procress I have undertaken/the colour correction filters used. Its still definately a work in progress at the moment but I have posted it to you tube.

The narative is not really important but does it make sense what is happening?

Does it flow ok?

Any tips on improving the edit?

Any general (hopefully constructive :)) comments?

I will be incorporating some SFX made in 3ds Max including an animated character and particle flows. I am thinking about doing this by exporting from FCP as a TIFF image sequence into combustion for compositing and perhaps using after effects for some 2d effects not available in FCP.

This is my first ever filming project and any tips on these procresses would also be really appreciated.

Many, many thanks……
