Mark Montgomery is Videomaker Magazine’s Technical Editor. Mark starting writing for Videomaker in 2002 and continues to write for the magazine and blog, focusing on industry news, reviews and video production techniques.

Mark’s affinity for video production started at an early age. As a youngster, Mark recorded many family events for posterity. Most of that footage is now hidden in a secret cave. His passion for shooting video continued throughout his formative years. Mark graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in Media Arts.

Early in his career, Mark freelanced for various clients. His credit list includes a myriad of show titles from TLC and MTV. Mark was also a commercial producer for Charter Media, creating local and regional spots. In between all this, there was a lot of white noise called the Internet, where Mark produced web video for Turnhere.com, among other clients. At some point, he traded in his camcorder (not really) for a pen (not really) and now your reading the thoughts in his head on this blog (kind of).
