This is a great concept. I might have just try it out myself. Guess I'll need to buy a good video camera finally. What would you recommend?

[...] Videomaker managing editor VideoChick found the site: Did you ever play that summer camp game where someone starts a story and the next person has to continue the next chapter, followed by another storyteller, etc. until everyone has a chance to make up a chapter? Well, now you can do it with video, and maybe win a prize for your effort. [...]

Thanks, Eric, for the added info. I changed the blog to reflect the new data. It sounds like a wonderful way for video producers to hone their story-telling skills, and means of collaboration! Jennifer

Thanks for the writeup Just Jennifer!

My name is Erik Luchauer and I am one of the co-founders of http://rootclip.com. In reading your post, I noticed that you say "The community will produce 4 chapters, and Rootclip will produce the final chapters." This is actually incorrect. We at Rootclip produce the first chapter (a.k.a. The "root clip") and users create chapters 2 through 6. The final chapter (chapter 6) is only eligible for submissions by the winners of chapters 2-5.

I hope that makes sense! I also hope to see some of your work on our site. We're really trying to create a collaborative community and build up the excitement for a new generation of filmmakers. I definitely think that the next Steven Spielberg or Michael Moore could come through a venue like Rootclip.com.

Thanks again for the post, VideoChick!!
