Videomaker Short Video Contest is Under Way…

…and we want to see your entries! Download the Call for Entries to get started. You’ve got a bit of time, but we’re not giving you a license to procrastinate: we must receive your entry by 5PM Pacific Time on October 31 to qualify your video.

Our hats are off to our first qualified contestants. Now we’re challenging you: fill up our source drive!

As an added bonus, I’ll soon be giving you all a real-world, long-term review of some of TMPG’s handy-dandy MPEG-2 encoding and editing tools that I’ll be using over the course of the contest. The benefit of using these programs is that they generate highly optimized source files that are exactly the format that our DVD authoring software wants to see. This will make DVD authoring much easier, which will, in turn, make distributing the entries to our judges (er, the rest of the Editors) significantly easier.
