Well, I'm not sure, but I imagine that it will still be a 720p stream (not 1920x1080) as that's what these models image natively. It says it will need a special adapter to attach to the camcorders, so it's not the 720 HDV stream that comes out of the firewire port. I haven't checked with JVC but I'm willing to bet it records straight off the camcorder into the XDCAM EX 720p spec.

I think time and technological advancement will make the SxS costs go down, but wider acceptance for the SxS format can only be a good thing for JVC, Sony, and SanDisk

So if I get this with the 200U, how does the camera go about implementing the 35mbps date rate of XDCam HD and not the 25mbps of HDV. Does the camera only record with a data rate of 25mbps when it records to tape?

Also, since the EX1 and EX3 record 1920X1080, if I get the 200U, will that now record 1920X1080 and not 1440X1080?

Will this make the price of the SxS cards go down? Will JVC cameras be able to use the hard drive that is going to be made for the EX3?
