Been using VideoStudio Pro X2 going on 3 months now and cannot seem to find anything on this. I am working on nature videos and wanted to try different audio channels when going to dvd. Allowing the viewer to sellect the channel they want to listen to.
My thought is something along the lines of the different languages that production dvds have. Something like one channel is just ambient sounds. Another has background music over ambient. Maybe a third with commentary.

I am using Corel Videostudio X2 pro on my laptop with VISTA.

I recently produced two videos that I am having a problem with choppy segments on the final video clip. One video was about 40 minutes long while the other only had a total run time of about 2.5 minutes.

When I have all the clips laid out in the editor things look good with the playback, but then after I render it all together by clicking on share/create video file and select dv 16x9 the final video when viewed on the computer or television on a DVD there are parts that have pretty choppy video.

I did notice that when I put all the files on my portable hard drive and transfer it to my kids laptop with windows XP (using the same version of Corel Videostudio pro X2) it works just fine. Is this simply a VISTA problem?

Thanks

I have been using Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 for about 3 months now. In the last week or so I have noticed that, whether it's a clip in my library or on my the timeline, playback appears to be about 10X. A 20 second clip "runs" about 2 seconds. You only see the first frame or 3 of the clip then your at the end. This changes if I adjust playback speed to 99% or 101% then it runs at a more normal rate. I am using AVCHD (.mts) files. Same format I have used, that I am aware of, since I started using VideoStudio. After fussing with putting things in the timeline to review it for a while (30 min or so) it seems to "fix" itself and everything runs fine from that point until I close the program.

I can get it to play normal as well if I add a separate audio in the timeline with it. Which is not a problem for the work in progress but trying to run clips from the library so that I can see if its viable for the project just isn't working. I have even played around with the smartproxy settings with no change. Anyone have any ideas what the problem and possible fix might be?

I am using Ulead Studio 11.5. It was working fine, we would video tape our church service onto a VHS tape, I would use a capture device and then plug it into the Ulead program and edit with overlays and text. We started using a Panasonic AGHMC 70P with AVCHD onto a 16 gb pg sdhc card. I can capture off the card but when I put the video file into the timeline it will run slow and/or freeze. I have tried to change the settings for HD but cannot get the file to run in the time line so I can edit it. It will run in the library but not the timeline.Â

Now when I am using the old video camera/VHS tape the program will work but will take over 10 hours to burn an hour DVD.

NOTE: Working on a HP Pavillon/triple core processor with 2 or 3 gigs of ram.  My graphics card is reading a score of 3 (windows vista)....can this have anything to do with this problem?

Hi there - help please! I am having a technical issue. I had success with Ulead Video Studio 9Â SE Dvd previously.I had captured videos with a TV tuner (old VHS
tapes). When I created a DVD with them (menu and all). The discs worked fine.

Now I am trying to do virtually the same thing, with video imported from a camcorder (mini DV format - 16:9 aspect ration in filming), and am now getting the following error: "This disc cannot be played. Please check the TV system" when I insert the finalizd disc in my DVD player. The disc works fine in my computer (will play), but not in a stand-alone DVD player. I am very confused at this as the process worked perfectly previously. Same discs. The file type are WMVs. Please help!

With my previous video editor, VideoWave 4, I could create separate libraries for each project I opened. This would group all my clips in a library specifically for that project. I could load selected libraries as required.

With Video Studio 11, I seem to only have the choice of one library.Â

If I create a new project, say Project1, and build up a library with various video clips and save it then close the project. If I open Project1 the library is still there. That's OK.

But now if I create a new project and call it Project2, I still have the same library as Project1. If I add clips to Project 2 this means the library will grow.

If I now create further projects and add clips the library starts to get too big and messy.

Is there a way to create separate libraries for each project?Â

Am I missing something here?

Thanks.

Hi I'm new to this so please forgive me. I'm trying to get files from my Sony DVD Camcorder to be read by the U lead software for my very first project!

The files on the DVD (after "finalising") the dvd are listed as;

VIDEO_TS, VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01.IFO

ETC ETC

Needless to say U lead Video studio can't seem to read them , where do I start ? Thanks in anticipation

Ok, I just got my capture device and opened everything and got it all installed. I have no problem capturing from my XBOX to my pc and into Ulead Video Studio 8(came with cap device), but once I get into the program and select clips from the source video and save them I run into major problems. Any video I save, regardless of format, has audio, but no video. Seeing as I am trying to make a video and not an mp3, this is useless to me. Is there a trick to this program I am overlooking?

Please help.

I want to copy all my old VHS tapes to DVDs and believe that I did do one about 6 years ago ago.

I'm not sure what video editing software I used as I had and still have Ulead VideoStudio 5 and Ulead VidoeStudio 6 SE DVD. It may have been Pinnacle Studio 8 borrowed from a friend. Also I've forgotten what connections I need from VHS recorder/player to my PC. IIRC I used a Scart adapter from the VHS player, maybe the SVHS connecter via cable lead to SVHS connecter on appropriate desktop PC's PCI card. Stupid me having lost the info about that PCI card. Guess I need to take it out of the PC, put a photo on the web and ask forum members their advice.

 Hi,

I have searched for a couple days now for an answer to this problem, but am coming up with nothing helpful.

My problem: I used Ulead 11's Movie Wizard to create a photo DVD which includes some video clips from my camera as well. It came out quite nicely, along with some more editing from me.

The problem is, when I play the project with all the layers, the video clips return as a black screen with audio only. BUT, when I play only the video clips, I get everything, audio and visual. I downloaded the Morgan Multimedia codec as per another suggestion, but this hasn't helped, so now I'm completely stumped. I tried rendering it and playing it back, but am left with black screens and audio only. I've tried removing the transitions before and after the clips, and I've tried putting the video on an overlay track, but nothing has worked.

The method I used for putting the mjpeg files into the project was just choosing the 'insert video' option on the project's control panel. I don't think i can 'capture' those clips as they are already copied onto the computer and the program detects them as .avi files.

Any insight would be wonderful! Thank you!

I tried Video Studio 6 or 7, and it was OK, but there were a lot of features missing. Then, I tried Pinnacle Studio 8. Worked better, but was loaded with bugs and was still limited. If I were you, I'd buy Adobe's Premiere Elements ($100). You get 99 video tracks and 99 audio tracks, and if I had to guess I'd say that there are features like chroma and PIP.

Hope this helps

How do AMD dual core processors compare to equal speed Intel dual core processors for video rendering? I asked ULEAD but they didn't/wouldn't give me an answer.

I'm planning on building a new computer for ULEAD Video Studio 11. I usually use ASUS motherboards and AMD CPUs. It will have at least 2gig of fast RAM and 800gig of SATA hard drives. I have a GeForce 6800 GS, 256meg PCI-E graphics card.

Any recommendations and comments would be greatly appreciated.
editing an already compressed file isn't likely to get you good results. I would imagine that most NLEs aren't "expecting" you to try to load wmv files. If your manual says that you should be able to do it, in light of your other post indicating possible issues, you might consider uninstalling and reinstalling your NLE software.

I'm going to assume that you are trying to capture directly to your F:\ drive. Your C:\ has no room.

You didn't note what kind of interface you're using. USB 2???, IEEE1394??? Other??? Hopefully you're using IEEE1394 (Firewire). Are you also using any other special hardware and if so are all of the latest drivers installed?

That aside, have you ever had problems capturing before? There could be a lot of things going on here. What you could try is see if you can capture using Windows Movie Maker just to see if you can capture anything. If you CAN then we're looking at Ulead maybe being the problem. If you CAN'T than it's probably a PC related problem.
