Hi has anybody played around with magix movie editor pro 14, I was wondering how it compares to say sony vegas movie studio platinum pack- I cant at this stage afford any of the high end producs, so I need to stick to one of these-one thing I noticed about magix editor is that you can have 99 tracks compared to vegas's 4, so that is a huge plus for me, yet vegas seems to be better known

I'm not sure if this is the right site to be at, but if someone here could help me I'd appreciate it.

I have a Panasonic Camcorder PV GS59 that came with MotionDV Studio 5.6 and Quick Movie Magic. I recently bought Magix Movie Edit 12. I can only edit on Magix if I load it from MotionDV, which is fine, but I got a computer with Vista and MotionDV won't download to it. I tried loading the movie through Windows movie Maker, but when I tried to get it to Magix, the sound was messed up. So I found a download on Panasonic for MotionDV for Vista (http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/soft/download/motionDV60E_LE_1.html) but I have no idea how to download it... Can anyone help me please?

I have a video basically finished, but the song runs well past the end and of video.all i want to do is simply fade the sound down to zero before the last scene, which is of a sunset on a lake with crickets...thing is, the manual that comes with magix has "nothing" about how to edit sound. It does'nt look like many-if any- magix users on this board, but any help much appreciated.

just click on the title tab near the effects tab. then you can drag and drop a style of a title that you want to use. after you do this it will then open up a title editor where you can change the text to whatever you desire.
hope that helps. the last time that i used movie edit pro was about 1 1/5 years ago but it should be similar.
Magix Movie Edit Pro 10 E Version, is by far absolutely inferior, in my opinion. Once I started to make high quality (not hi def) it started to give me different types of memory errors and I could not fix it. If I tried to do anything slightly intense, from then on, it would crash. Therefore, it was a progressive , not immediate problem. I tried uninstall/reinstall, regedit and repair utilities.. you name it I probably did it. Unfortunately Magix tech support couldn't figure it out either.

So, I upgraded to Version 11 Boxed.

I had to clean the registry up from the old version and also download the patch for it from Magix.com

Wow, its awesome. I can actually go way over 720X480 resolution to the maximum 1920X1020 in the down mix before I burn the DVD . Alhtough it burns back down to 720 it is much fuller picture than if I down mixed using a compressed format. The effect is a much fuller interlace then if I just down mixed at 720X. Yes, it still ends up as 720X resolution but its a better 720X.

Therefore, before I burn , I chose to export using the "AVI with no compression" and set the resolution up before I run it. I can only do this with a short video under 10 minutes because the file size ratio in this format is 10 G per minute and I only have 60g free on my hard drive after virtual memory.

However, I am so amazed that this can be done on my old 1.8 G P4 pc with 512 PC 133 ram and with no crashes.
I think these specific MAGIX issues will need to be resolved via support from their website. It sounds like they have some problems in their software.

Try their FAQ, then if that doesn't cover it, try their support forum and if you stil have a problem, try contacting them directly (Sprechen sie deutsch?)

http://site.magix.net/english-us/home/support/

Good luck, and please let us know how it all turns out!
