I am new to Pinnacle, but have created my project including menus, videos, photos, and music.

My next step is to "make movie" I select DVD and best quality. The time alloted appears to have sufficient space. I next click "create", the blue bar on the preview screen say making movie in progress, but in reality...NOTHING is happening :( It locks up and never makes a movie.Â

What are my options?

I was having a problem rendering a project in Studio 9. There was a hangup at exactly the same place each time I rendered. Chats with Pinnacle suggested that I remove the offending frames and try again. This did not work. Other suggestions failed also. Finally, they said that upgrading to Studio 11 would "solve the problem". I upgraded and the same thing happened, only this time it hung up in a different place. This problem does not occur with other projects.

Has anyone had the same problem and been able to fix it? I would be grateful for any help in this as I spent a great deal of time editing this video.

Thanks.

Do I need to upgrade or is there a better software to do this with ?

I use Pinnacle Studio 12 to edit HDV footage. I'm in the market for a Blu-Ray burner so that I can put a 2.5 hour video on a disc. I'm just now starting to research Blu-Ray burners; and they kind of sound like a pain to use. Has anyone used Studio 12 to edit HDV footage and burned to Blu-Ray? Can Studio 12 compress and prepare footage to be burned to Blu-Ray? What format does it need to be in in order to burn to Blu-Ray? Thanks.

Well, two projects in the last two months have vanished. Specifically, I open the project and the timeline window is empty. Wow. Just wow.

I'm also having a problem that the DVD's are burning for "other than North American Region". Pinnacle says they won't answer my WTF question since they don't support LAST YEAR's software (10.7).

As soon as I'm finished my current projects I'm going to remove all the unreliable PINNACLE junk off my HD. I can't decide whether to burn the disks and smash the ashes, or to smash the disks and burn the debris... either way, the leftovers are getting flushed.

I have a canon HD Vixia HF10 and just bought Pinnacle studio plus edition 12. The problem is I cant get my recordings to show up when I click the capture button. I get an error message that says

Studio is unable to connect to your video device.

If you have a DV make sure its on VTR, VCR or play mode and is connected to Firewire or 1394 port on your computer.

Right now I am connected to the computer from the mini USB to USB on the computer and I am in the play mode on the Canon. Thats the way it worked when I was using the software that came with the Canon with no problems except the software was pretty awful.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

What was I thinkiing? Talk about boneheaded mistakes, I had an opportunity to take a training ride on a new comuter rail system so I took along my digital camera that will allow me to capture video. My thought was that I could capture a few minutes of video and shar it with my freinds. Problem is, Like an idiot, I turned the camera sidways while I was capturing the video. Now I have 5 minutes of video that when played back on a computer or screen is SIDEWAYS Duh! I have limited resources but I do have a copy of Pinnacle 10. Is there anyway to rotate this video so it will be right side up?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I am a long time video editor using Pinnacle Studio and Adobe Premiere Elements however, I have NEVER had any experience with the following and would like some pointers as to how I go about getting a quality product.

We just had an anniversary party for a relative. I filmed alot of the event. My brother also filmed a lot of the event on a separate camcorder.

Now I have (2) tapes - mine and my brothers and I need to put them together to make one movie. In particular, there was a speech. I filmed the speaker and my brother filmed the guest reactions to the speech. What is the easiest way to edit the video so that I can transition from the speaker to the reaction shots and vice versa?

Any other tips for editing in this situation would be GREATLY appreciated as well.

I hope the above is even possible in Premiere Elements and/or Studio. <fingers crossed>

Thanks in advance!

The only reason I didn't return Studio 10 Titanium when I got it is because by the time I had finally installed everything and entered all of the product keys I had so much time invested that I couldn't bear the thought that it was spent in vain. I also wasn't happy that I had to install multiple updates and patches just to get it up to date. I am currently running 10.7

After that things were fine for a while. I made a few movies, converted some to iPod format, etc. The render quality was great. No major hiccups. DVD's played fine (although I didn't try making menus).

Then out of nowhere about a month ago everything I render is lossy, grainy, and pixelated. No matter what format, codec, or configuration I use, it always outputs the same lossy junk video.

I am very disappointed with Studio 10 Titanium. Did I pay a lot of cash for it? Not really (but enough). If my movies would render correctly I would be a happy camper. Infact I am between a rock and a hard place now. I have about 200 people waiting on a video that will not render correctly. I have many hours of editing invested so I don't want to run the 10.8 update and have my project files not open.

Does anyone know if the 10.8 update fixes quality loss issues?

...my rant is over.

Yes, you read that right. I'm trying to use pinnacle studio - keyword: trying. Am I nuts? No, just desperate.

Back before my boss saw the light and got Sony Vegas, he had the whole pinnacle shebang - video box, software, cables, etc. and somehow this footage he wants edited is in what seems to be pinnacle's .MTS video format.

Now, I'm trying to rig pinnacle long enough to render out this footage as an AVI so the vegas experience will be an absolute breeze. Why don't i just import the .MTS into Vegas as is? Don't even ask...

So, any tips on keeping pinnacle unfrozen long enough to render out this critical footage? Thanks in advance.

For the record, I heartily agree with anything negative anyone's said about this piece of junk program. It's nothing more than an upscale version of Windows Movie Maker.

As a newbie, I only still have an analog camera...I would like to shoot fresh video footage to use in practicing with FCP 6.

Would purchasing the Pinnacle Video capture for MAC allow me to convert my analog footage to a useable  format for my IMAC so I could start editing with Final Cut Pro 6?

Thanks

After rendering and burning an edited video on Pinnacle Studio Plus vers 11, random parts of the dvd audio will playback at an excelerated speed. One friend called it a "chipmunk" effect. If I re-render and burn to a new DVd sometimes the effect will clear up. Any thoughts on whats causing the problem? Video is made up of still pix and imported video with no apparent problems in any material used. Thanks

First video project so I've made a complete NOOB error!!! Help :-).

Got video on DV tape, the sound was recorded using a lapel mike that was connected up to left channel. When importing the DV video to Pinnacle it comes in with left channel only sound. Is there any way in Pinnacle or another video editing application to turn this into a mono track or in other words to have the sound coming out of both channels?

You'll be saving my bacon if you can help with this one.
