Blu-ray use MPEG-2 video compression format, the same method used on standard DVDs, so you need render to this format and Pinnacle Studio can output MPEG-2 format, but I know nothing about burning blu-ray with Pinnacle. I can give you some free professional burning programs for burning blu-ray disc: BurnAware, ImgBurn and FinalBurn. These three do quite good job in burning blu-ray. You can choose one and have a try.

I use Pinnacle Studio 12 to edit HDV footage. I'm in the market for a Blu-Ray burner so that I can put a 2.5 hour video on a disc. I'm just now starting to research Blu-Ray burners; and they kind of sound like a pain to use. Has anyone used Studio 12 to edit HDV footage and burned to Blu-Ray? Can Studio 12 compress and prepare footage to be burned to Blu-Ray? What format does it need to be in in order to burn to Blu-Ray? Thanks.

 Hi,
i am newly join in this site. This site is very useful to others.    This article discusses portable computers, for topics concerning the upper thigh or leg see lap.A laptop is a personal computer designed for mobile use small enough to sit on one's lap[1]. A laptop includes most of the typical components of a typical desktop computer, including a display, a keyboard, a pointing device as well as a battery, into a single small and light unit. The rechargeable battery required is charged from an AC/DC adapter (ie, a wll wart) and typically stores enough energy to run the laptop for several hours.

Pioneer introduced the BDR-202 Blu-Ray burner last year and it was named one of our 10 best. While Pioneer did not introduce a new generation of Blu-ray burner in 2008, the cost dropped dramatically from over $500 to under $300 and the Videoguys went out and put together an external USB bundle that allowed both PC & Mac, desktop or laptop video editors to add Blu-Ray Disc burning to their machines. for under $300!! Our BDR-202 Mega X bundle includes the Vantec NexStar DX 5.25" External USB Enclosure for the BDR-202 drive that assembles in minutes and allows you to take the BDR-202 with you anywhere and attach it to any computer. All for just $299.95 and that includes a 6-pack of Verbatim Blu-Ray Media (5 BD-R and 1 BD-RE).

In 2008 Blu-ray won the High Definition format war. There are millions of Sony PlayStation 3's in living rooms all over the world that are also Blu-ray players. This past holiday season prices on Blu-ray players dropped dramatically with many stores promoting Blu-ray players at under $250. With the release of "Dark Knight" on Blu-ray we finally have a title worth paying extra for, loaded with additional Blu-ray content and features.

By now, many of our customers have migrated to HD camcorders. Now is the time to start delivering that HD content to your friends, family, customers and clients. Our BDR-202 Mega X bundle is the perfect solution for you. Especially if you are editing with Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro CS3/CS4 or Sony Vegas Pro 8. You have all the software you need; all that is missing is this bundle. (Apple Final Cut Pro owners are still going to have to invest in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 or Production Premium CS4 to get Blu-ray Disc authoring).

To continue with what RockStar said.

You may get a good deal on a BR camcorder, but the disks BR-R's are upwards of $20 to 25 (possibly $30) a piece depending on where you buy them.

So that also needs to be taken into consideration in the purchase price.

I do not know much about camcorders that record to blu-ray disks, but if I were in your shoes and thinking about purchasing an HD camcorder, I would buy one that records to a card.Â

Camcorders that record to some kind of memory card usually(if not always) have no moving parts on the inside. This greatly reduces the chance for failure and helps keep the camera cool, believe it or not. I would imagine capturing the video to your computer would be easier too.Â

Does anyone here have experience with Blu Ray camcorders - specifcally the Hitachi models?  Some of the reviews I read for the DZ-BD9HA haven't been great but supposedly they've made a lot of improvements with the DZ-BD10HA?   I found a coupon code for 20% off ("SAVEBIG" at http://www.hitachibd.com) but not sure - I don't really know enough about Blu-Ray in general to know if the technology is worth the price.  Any advice?  Thanks!

 Videoguys' Blu-ray Disc Bundles

It Looks Like a Blu Christmas!
The early retail reports are in from Black Friday and Cyber Monday and Blu-ray Disc players are one of this season's must have consumer electronics items! We went shopping at our local stores on Black Friday and we could not believe how many folks were checking out with a Blu-ray Disc player in their cart. Even more were asking questions including:

What cables do I need to hook up to my HDTV up for the best quality?
Videoguys' answer: A good quality HDMI cable – which doesn't have to cost you $100. We sell high-quality 3 meter HDMI cables for just $29.95!

What big movies are available on Blu-ray Disc?
Videoguys' favorites include: The Godfather and The Matrix anthologies and we're looking forward to Lord of the Rings (which is in the works)

What is the best movie with the new advanced BD-Live interactivity?
Videoguys' answer: The answer to this may change with each new movie released but currently Warner's first blockbuster release with BD-Live is Batman: The Dark Night and the features are amazing! You can even set up an online chat community and watch the movie with friends across the globe!

Will stores be getting in any more of the under-$249 Blu-Ray players?
Videoguys' answer – Yes, it looks like these are the new price points for the holiday season and several manufacturers' are committed to that entry-level price. However, we really recommend spending a few dollars more to get a player that is firmware upgradeable so you will continue to get all of the cool new features being added to this technology. (Tip: Look first for a player with an Ethernet or USB port and then double check the specs)

How can I put my own HD footage from onto Blu-ray Disc?
Videoguys' answer: That's when you leave your big-box retail store and call Videoguys.com at 800 323-232! You'll need to add a Blu-ray disc burner like the Pioneer BDR-202 to your Mac or PC along with the software to support it.

Videoguys has all the information and products you need to put your HD videos onto Blu-ray!!
PC or Mac, internal or external, high end or beginner we have the tools for the job!

I beg to differ about the better format.

With all of the research I have done and with all the people I have interviewed in this particular field, along with many DVD producers, Blu-Ray is by far the superior product.

I don't think that a mishap with a sony product warrant the entire product line to be inferior.

Blue Ray has higher capacity
More user functions
etc.

Just my 2 cents.

It is too bad Blu-ray has won this one.  HD DVD was the better format of the 2 systems.  I also read a post online today that Microsoft is going to stop the HD DVD for it's game systems put are going to put the best of HD DVD's extras into its it's new disk players.  We here at DNS Video will have nothing to do with a Sony product after having a drive destroyed by Sony's rootkit it had on new 'blank' DVDs, with no compensation whatsoever from Sony.

Toshiba has surrendered, finally we can move on. I wonder what will happen to Blu-ray prices, now that they don't have competition. I hope they realize that the format has to get cheaper, before it can really succeed.Â

Why bother with the disks at all when upsampled dvd's look good on hi def tv's, Apple tv's and other media streamers can run the content right off your computer, and then there's web broadcasting/sharing.Â

I said earlier, "...while some suit in some hollywood office was pushing headlines on some paper I didn't care about."

Except for videomaker magazine.  I care a lot about videomaker.  I check out their video section, and you can see that they get it.  Rather than subjecting all of us to purchasing DVDs along with their magazine they put amazing quality media online in the form of tutorials.

I'm going to ask this from a web developers perspective. This is January 2008 and magazine articles are claiming Blu-Ray as a winner.   As of today I know absolutely no one my age in their mid 30s who are not technologists avidly screaming for high def blu ray media or content.  Same with HD/DVD; no one is demanding it.  My wedding videographers are all saying that, my corporate videographer friends are saying that.

And yet everyone I know in their 30s, 20s, and teens use online video every day.    So what does it mean that one format has won?   Does it mean that a hollywood studio gets to say, "We Won !" ?  Because from my day to day perspective I am selling  full length 2 hour long online video solutions to my clients today, and have been for years.

Wedding video

Non profit video

Video  Podcasts

Local Event Video

I asked myself whether it would be the year for HD in 2007, 2006, 2005...At some point I just found myself selling online video for profit while some suit in some hollywood office was pushing headlines on some paper I didn't care about.

I can't answer to what will happen with HD and the practical everyday sale of the technology.  But I do know what's going on in the IT world.  Prices are dropping, hardware is cheaper, software is better, and software developers who are not innovative are having to look for other work.  At some point people will have to wake up and realize that HD will not sell more media.  Hoping for a bigger paycheck because of more bigger faster is just not true anymore.  What you get to live with is that you spend for more bigger faster and get paid the same amount or less.

What about you?  How long have you been selling high def?  What are your projected timelines for practical applications of high def, after paying for hardware software learning and getting people to finally accept that their fate is high def?  Will it be too late, because all the kiddies have been shooting each other dozens of online video files for years already?  Best case scenario I think people will be forced to purchase high end cameras and computers and all new software.  And all this stuff will be delivered online because of the incredible interactivity which we experience similar to these forums.  Not an isolating experience non dynamic single disk with no future.  Probably great for libraries which need archival material on 25Gb disks.  And I'm not planning a career in library science any time soon.

I have a G5 and I'm thinking about buying the External Lacie Blu Ray Burner.  I just shot a wedding in HD and finished editing it in HD but I have held off on buying a burner.  Can anyone give me any insight on brand name choice, compatibility, etc?
