Does anyone here do hunting video's? I am only interested in filming outdoors/hunting (no weddings). I have a question on how to promote this kind of business. Myself, My dad, and my husband got the equipment we need and I have produced 3 DVD's so far and have gotten a lot of good compliments. Right now we were asked to go to maine with an outfitter to produce a promotional video about guided bear hunts. My question is: How or where can I get information on writing up a good contract? Does anyone have any experience in this field that would be willing to give me some advice? Like I said I am just starting to do this as a business opportunity instead of a hobby, and it seems to be something that is demanded in my area. Also, any suggestions on how much to charge? Do you charge by the hour or day? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm bidding on a project and would like feedback on pricing. It's a half day shoot (4-5 hrs)

Then edit 3 or 4, 2 - 3 min clips, then upload them to youtube with graphics for names etc.

Between logging and editing I'm guessing it will take me another half day (4-5 hours) for a

total of 10 hours. If there are issues might go up to 12 hrs.

I'm shooting on JVC 100 camera and editing on final cut pro. I have plenty of experience in the

TV news biz but don't do many freelance / corporate gigs. Any thoughts? Thanks

I know that there has been some discussion about people trying to get good equipment with little investment. So I thought I would throw this topic out there.

When I was looking to buy a camera last year I started doing research on what camera would meet my needs for the least amount of money. My budget was between 1500 and 1800 dollars.

I then started watching auctions on Ebay and I could not understand why used cameras were selling for prices near what I could buy them new. I don't understand why people would not spend the 150 to 200 more and get brand new with warranty from a reputable dealer.

My original plan was to get a an HVX as my primary camera and then a Cannon XHA1 as backup. But then a google search led me to prices as low as $2,700 for an HVX200A. Which would make it about the same price as the XHA1. Does anybody have experience with there lower price tags? There's got to be a catch, right?

HI - I'm looking for the best price on the Sony HDR SR11 Camcorder. Retail prices are quoted at $1199. Amazon.com gets it down to $999. Looking further Online, I found a site (Photo.net) which is supposed to compare different mailorder sellers.

They listed a company called Sonic Cameras which listed this camcorder at (get ready) $399!!!! How can this be? Is anyone familiar with this company? They say in their ad that the camera is new.

I'd appreciate any help if anyone knows about this, or is it some kind of a scam? Maybe the hard drive is extra!!

Thanks.

Hi Im a freelance videographer based in Texas who has done the majority of my work independently working on varios surf and skate movies. I recently was hired by a company to occasionaly help shoot weddings and also occasionally rent them my camera. I am new to the whole filming wedding gig. How do i go about coming up with prices? The company wants me to list my price for: Renting my camera(Sony VX2000) last Saturday for a two hour shoot and then this Saturday they will be using me and my camera for another shoot around 2 hours. Anyone have any suggestions? I dont want to get ripped off but I would also like the company to call me offer me more work. Any ideas are appreciated.
