For what it's worth, I tried pulling up the film, but apparently vmix.com has had some problems and it is no longer available. Is there somewhere else I could get a look at it from? Thanks!

Best regards,

Hi, I'm John Romeo, creator and host of "The Romeo Theater", an online show. In each show we present a short movie, and the director shares a little bit about the story behind it.

I'm always looking for short films to feature on the show! If you'd like to present your movie (under 5 minutes long) on The Romeo Theater, visit the website at http://www.romeo-theater.com and click the 'Submissions' link on the right. I would love to see your stuff!

You can view the show at the website to see how the format works: http://www.romeo-theater.com. You can also 'subscribe' to the show as a video podcast by searching "Romeo Theater" in Apple iTunes. Select shows are also available at my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/TheRomeoTheater

The game box twist is unique and humorous. The game sound track could be higher in volume to emphasize his playing with her hand as the game controller.

Last summer I wrote a short story and submitted into Spinetinglers.co.uk and it got nice remarks from those who commented on it.

http://www.spinetinglers.co.uk/ViewStory.aspx?story=186

Last October at my high school level film school, we were assigned a one minute short which we had to shoot with no audio and then present it with a soundtrack we would have to create ourselves.

 Here are my storyboards:

http://www.box.net/shared/khmi480sg4

And here's the video itself, which is made to look like one shot:

Several years ago I was involved in making a film about "The Day in the Life of a Dog" we created a dolley that kept the camera lens at the dogs eye level as he escaped from his yard. We had a lot of fun inventing all of the trouble he could get into. The whole film was kept at his POV.

Good Day to all,

I am working on a new project. Just a small one. I am doing a short film about my dog. Its like one whole day in the life of my dog. So I will mostly just shoot around the house. I am very open for suggestions and tips for my small project.

Here is the list of my gear:

MiniDv consumer camera. Panasonic PVGS39

Wide angle convertion lens

standard tripod

Apple imac intel core2 duo computer

adobe premiere 6.0

please help me out on this.

Thank you

Thanks everyone. Thanks Tom. Unfortunately "Mr. D" didnt do so well on the rounds to the festivals. We were rejected at ever turn. Sigh. Mostly because of the length and pacing. We kept hearing, "good story, but too slow. Edit quicker".

Ah well. PS: Tom, we did have a tiny crew of 3 (I was Producer/writer/director/DP), and zero budget.

It seems to me that the festivals that you were rejected from are very short sighted and snooty because a film should stand on its own. I have seen profesionaly done films that I thought were too slow but when all is said and done unless you are doing a film for a client the only person you need to please is yourself. Art is very subjective. I read the critics on most of the films being released today and I find that if they don't like it I will.

One suggestion I would give is to look at tightenin up the dialog the film would pick if that were done.

Keep on filming and learning.

Steve,

With a GL2 and no crew listed; you didn't have a crew??? Are you telling the whole truth and nothing but, guy ???

Watched on this small screen and audio was not crisp; attribute to my system. Do you have the rights to that blues song ?? Good choice.

This is the best piece of traditional film making (short film category) I've seen in three years on this forum. By that I mean, you were not relying on special effects, computer hijinks to be your story, smother your story, or make your story work.  Closer to Hitchcock than to Lucas and that's fine for a lot of us boomers.

Possibly good enough for Canon to be interested in as a marketing tool for their beleaguered GL2, which gets mixed reviews in some parts.

I was a jurist for the DC Shorts Film Fest last year. My jury team would have recommended this for the program. It is stronger than a couple films that got awards last year at this Fest.

The DC Film Fest has started to look for entries for the 2008 fest. Check for the criteria on the net. Go For It !!!

REGARDS ... TOMÃÂ

I was kind of disappointed with my GL2 because here in my country (Colombia) with the new HDVs nobody wants to work. But your short film proved that it is more creativity and hard work than state of the art technology.</span>
