Ok here is the deal, I just got in to high quality videography for and outdoor tv show. Here is my problem, when it comes to audio I know nothing. The company says I need a shotgun mic, and a wireless mic and I need to record it in dual audio or something so they can put in voice-overs when editing it. I have a Sony hdr-fx7 can someone please help me with what I need to do/buy to achieve this or at least point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Hello all, I am new to this forum and new to video production, kinda... Anyway I am starting a wedding videography business and I have a Sony HVR A1u, and a Sony HD1000u shoulder mount. I was wondering if you guys and gals could help me? What are the best types of wireless lavalier mics to buy. My budget is in the $300.00 range? Do I need one to fit in the XLR input in my camera? or is mini stereo okay? I bought the A1U because of the XLR. Any pointer you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm not sure if what I'm looking for is actually available. I'd like to get a wireless adapter for microphones I already use. XLR, 1/8th or both. Basically, I want to be able to plug my mic into a transmitter and plug a receiver in to my camera. Ideally, it would be great to inexpensively turn my SM58 into a wireless mic, but even if I can do it with self-powered lavs it would be helpful!

Thanx so much!

Hi,

I have Sony camera HVR-HD1000E. I'm filming events and i need to move from one place to another while filming. It's very hard, because camera is connected to laptop via i.Link (aka IEEE 1394) and i need to move laptop too.

This is schema how it works now. I searching way how to move freely and send video and audio from camera to laptop wirelessly.

Is there any chance to find solution? Any suggestions how to make this possible? What gear i need?

Thanks!

I am currently using several sets of Samson wireless mics(uhf). I am not thats impressed with the sound quality although they have performed well. I ust think there is better without spending an arm and a leg. I am particularly interested in the Sennhieser g2. Will I see much of difference in the quality of audio produced? Thanks.

Okay so this coming Saturday I am shooting my first wedding. For my company I usually shoot game tapes and sports videos, but no weddings yet.  My main camera is an XH-A1  but I am renting a Sony HVR-A1U and the Sennheiser EW 112P G2 (wireless lav mic)Â

My plan is to set the Sony on a tripod at the back as a wide-shot and walk around with my A1 since I know it better. The mic will be on the groom. But since this is my first time using a wireless mic system, I don't know how to hook it up properly.Â

Would it be best to have the receiver with me on the XH-A1? So that way I can monitor the levels as I go along.Â

Also, I am concerned about syncing up the audio and video of the 2 cameras + the lav mic. Should this really be a concern?

I'm not worried about editing it all together because I have obviously edited a lot of footage. Just capturing the wedding is what I'm concerned about. But if you need to know I'm editing on FCP6.

Â

Any other recommendations are welcomed!

Â

Thanks.
