Generally, your automatic white balance will start you off OK if you have some white - real white - in your scene. Some cameras are better than others at this and some settings are tougher for the auto-white-balance than others.

The best cameras have a dial where you can change the color temp settings. Some only have three settings - indoor / outdoor / "manual"

The problem is that this so-called "manual" isn't manual at all. You merely zoom the camera so that the only thing in the viewfinder is white. Maybe a white poster board, angled so that your light source falls onto it. Then you press a button until an icon stops blinking. But you're still depending on the electronics in your camera - that's why, IMHO, this isn't truly "manual".

Once you're in post and discover the problem, you'll need to go to your color correction features to fix it.

Find the manual control for white balancing on your camera. Turn your camera on and aim it at anything that is white. If your balance is off it won't look white in the camera. Press your white balance control and watch your screen. The white wall/sheet of paper/etc will shift color until its white. Let go of the button. Its now balanced.

How do I "white balance" the C7?

I shot a baby shower last week, and though the footage looks great, it does have a slight "yellowish" hue. I am reading "the wedding video handbook" which mentions white balancing, but doesnt tell exactly how to do it?

He says, place a white sheet in from of the camera and manual white balance it, but I dont know what that means?

Compusolver and the rst of you gurus, help please?
