<description>&#60;p&#62;Check out the Canon FS-11.  It is not a 3-chip camcorder, but it does have a mic input like you wanted.  It retails for $599.99 at B&#38;amp;H.   Also, if your going to shoot a band, and you have a Demo CD of the songs you want to shoot, then definitely use that.  It would be really difficult to get good audio using one 1/8&#34; mic input, and even worse with the on-board mic.  Just play the CD while you're taping and have the band members play in sync with the CD.  You can have the CD as loud as you need, because you won't be using the audio from the video.  Hope this helps.&#60;/p&#62;
