Can anyone enlighten me here? First off I have 2GB ram, and a 3.15GHZ duo-core processor. In Prem Pro 2.0 I have just completed a project of multiple sequences added together in a single sequence. It runs 1hr 21mins in length. I have tried in vain to export this sequence (work area bar) to auto-play dvd – having followed all instructions on how to do so in ‘help’ and ‘classroom in a book’ user manual. Premiere closes abruptly or stops with the message “Disk is full.” Even though there is still space on all drives.

I have since attempted to export to Adobe Encore DVD 2.0. This requires exporting to ‘Folder’ which I have done but cannot for the life of me correctly import the project/folder/etc into Encore. I’m against a deadline and I’m feeling like I should put contracts out on every Adobe rep whoever said you could export a project from Premiere to Encore!

I suppose I could export each individual Sequence, or chunks of the large Sequence, as AVIs and import them to Encore and reassemble them in Encore’s timeline – but accurately reassembling them could prove very difficult. I don’t know if Encore is frame accurate.

Anyway, please tell me if I’m going about all this bass-akwards before I go crazy…er.

    Thanks in advance,

    Patrick.

  2. The "disk full" message probably referred to the DVD disk, not a harddrive. When you go much over seventy minutes, you have to cut the quality down from the standard 7mb (assuming CBR & PCM audio). There is a message box that estimates the disk size. Cutting the quality down a little, should get you going.

    Cheers dude,

Have tried that and the results were the same. The 'disc full' notice always came early in the proceedings and I tried with fresh dvd-r's dvd-rw's, reformatted dvd-rw's and round and round we went with a project size under the recomended amount. Hence the nightmare...

  4. pp2.0, when doing a second encoding, often does not auto-flush its cache and needs to be exited and restarted or even, sometimes, rebooted (else it encodes the previous job and not the latest changes).

Then, use the encoder option and export to mpeg2 file. Be sure of your settings. Then import this mpeg file (m2v), and its corresponding wav file, into Encore. Encore is often fussy (at least my version, 1.5) about what file types it will properly work with - but m2v files always work for me.

If you're really frustrated with encore, PP will do a direct burn to DVD and even include a menu.
