Hey everyone. Just got a Canon XH-A1s and a new Mac Pro running FCP Suite. I'm having problems with FCP recognizing the camera however. i don't know if the problem is because i have a setting wrong on the camera or in FCP, or if its the firewire cable.

The XH-A1s has a firewire 6 pin slot, and the Mac Pro only has 9 pin slots. I only owned an old 6 pin to 4 pin and 6 to 6 so i bought this firewire cable from apple:

Like i said, not sure if i have the wrong cable or if a setting on the camera or computer is wrong.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    What are your capture settings?

Do you have the camera on playback mode?

Are you putting the camera on playback mode before your launch FCP?
