I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 4. If capturing video by streaming all at once instead of scene by scene, must I use the timeline for editing only, or is there a way to get the video on the sceneline, clip by clip?

You must use the timeline to chop the scenes up if you are just streaming one large file instead of smaller files. Why would you use the sceneline for editing anyway, thats is a ineffective way especially when it comes to using effects on your video.
