Im working on a project that is HD and I might have to import 720x480 video files (depending if they send any files that size) What do I have to do so that my 720x480 files size matches up with my HD size?

ideally you want to use hardware to upconvert video, such as the AJA Kona3 card, but people from this forum generally don't have that kind of money. If you insist on upconverting, you'll need software like Compressor, which comes with Final Cut Studio 2.

Or if you can, reshoot the footage in HD. Or just don't use the SD.

In my opinion, if you're going to use SD footage, then your final product should be SD, even if you shot a whole bunch of HD. I feel like it's one of those "you're only as strong as your weakest link" deals.
