"Excellent" and "cheap" are not compatible or synonymous. Google for audio mixer to find a BUNCH of possibilities. Samson, Behringer, Mackie...
    ...and more.

http://www.cheapbandgear.com is offering half-priced and free shipping, but you'd have to go there to find out more.

    Videomaker has a buyer's guide at http://www.videomaker.com/article/12563/

    Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Earl, I found an Azden FMX-42, that looks pretty good at half the price of the 3 channel Shure mixer

Did you see the Behringer 12-input mixer for $99.99 at cheap band gear? Glad you found something.

Behringer makes pretty good products for the price. Check them out.

There are also a few small mixers (I have an Aleses) that have USB or Fire Wire connections.  That gives you a lot of options.  With these types of mixers you can connect them to a laptop for a pretty nice portable recording set up.

I use mine to record voice overs and others sounds directley to the time line of Vegas Pro.  Musicians Friend usually has some pretty fair prices.
