X2, select video screen portion

    Hi everybody,

   I've a video in 16:9 scale.  I would like to change it to be 4:3 and cut left and right portion instead to fill in top and bottom as black.

   Is it possible and how? thx.

   Yes, you should be able to crop in VideoStudio X2. Let me see if I can find out more, or if someone beats me to it. Also, if the most interesting part of your scene is moving off the cropped area, but remaining inside the 16:9 frame, you should be able to set keyframes and move the cropped area around to perform a pan/scan operation.

   You would have to use the Cropping Video Filter.  Drop the filter onto your clip, then click Customize Filter.  There you can adjust the crop % by width and/or height.
